THE EAGLE

The Eagle landed in Leicester Square for its European Premiere on March 9th at the Empire Cinema, to the accompaniment of its stirring soundtrack, broadcast to the assembled fans. Kevin Macdonald's action-packed film of Rosemary Sutcliff's Roman Britain-set novel "The Eagle of the Ninth" for Universal Pictures brought American heartthrob Channing Tatum to the West End, joined on the red carpet by his co-stars Jamie Bell and Tahar Rahim. Alongside director Macdonald, the film's production team was represented by producer Duncan Kenworthy and Icelandic composer Atli Örvarsson, while among the celebrity guests were actors Gillian Anderson, Dexter Fletcher and David Morrissey.

KEVIN MACDONALD (State of Play, The Last King of Scotland) directs THE EAGLE from a screenplay by JEREMY BROCK (The Last King of Scotland) based on the classic novel "The Eagle of the Ninth" by ROSEMARY SUTCLIFFE. Producer DUNCAN KENWORTHY (Love Actually, Notting Hill) leads the production team of the epic drama.

THE EAGLE is released by Universal Pictures and will open nationwide on March 25th, 2011
