After graduating from the University of East Anglia with a degree in English & History, Rupert began his career with a new media creative agency. He moved to McDonald & Rutter in 2002, having worked with Miramax Films during the Cannes Film Festival earlier that year.

During five years with McDonald & Rutter, later Premier Public Relations, he worked on UK Theatrical campaigns on such varied titles as MONSTER, TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE, THE CONSTANT GARDENER, BROKEN FLOWERS, THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY, SUNSHINE and VENUS, working on all aspects of national and regional campaigns. At the Cannes Film Festival he worked in the press office and on international junkets and events for films including LAST DAYS, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN and DEATH PROOF. In addition to film campaigns he worked with Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House for their first three seasons and was publicist for the London production of WICKED: THE MUSICAL.

He joined DDA in September 2008 as Senior Publicist leading on campaigns such as DEFIANCE, IN THE LOOP, THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS, and PERCY JACKSON AND THE LIGHTNING THEIF as well as joining the DDA International Team at Berlin and Cannes International Film Festivals.
