TAMARA DREWE

Edged in grass and flanked by shrubbery, bales of hay, baby lambs and an improbable pink cow, the red carpet for the UK Premiere of TAMARA DREWE, held on Monday 6th September, in aid of The Prince's Foundation For Children and the Arts, transformed a corner of London's Leicester Square into an English country village. Stephen Frears brought the cast of his dark comedy, adapted by Moira Buffini from the graphic novel and Guardian comic strip by Posy Simmonds to the Odeon cinema, led by Gemma Arterton (the eponymous Ms Drewe), Dominic Cooper, Tamsin Greig, Luke Evans, Roger Allam, Jessica Barden, Charlotte Christie and Lois Winstone. Producers Alison Owen, Paul Trijbits and Tracey Seaward were joined by celebrity guests, including Stephen Fry, Lily Allen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Angus Deayton, David Gilmour, Hanif Kureishi and Salman Rushdie.

British stars Dominic Cooper (An Education, Mamma Mia!), Tamsin Greig (Cuckoo, Sean of the Dead), Roger Allam (The Queen, The Wind that Shakes the Barley) and Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll) make up the supporting cast alongside Bill Camp (Public Enemies, Reservation Road). The film is directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen, Mrs Henderson Presents) and is a Ruby Films Production, produced by Alison Owen (The Other Boleyn Girl, Elizabeth) Paul Trijbits (Executive Producer; The Wind the Shakes the Barley, Red Road) and Tracey Seaward (The Constant Gardener, The Queen).

TAMARA DREWE is released by Momentum Pictures and will open nationwide on September 10th, 2010
