Corporate Festival Representation

DDA corporately represents the following festivals, working with the respective events in various capacities. This includes generating International awareness of the festivals and their programmes; handling the international (ex local) press during the festivals and working to help secure the attendance of important film talent and industry players

Dubai International Film Festival

2004-Present
The Dubai International Film Festival launched in 2004 with its unique theme, Bridging Cultures. Meeting Minds using the powerful medium of film to serve as a platform for inter-cultural dialogue. DIFF is held under the Honorary Chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and a non-profit cultural event, presented and organized by the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority. Reflecting Dubai's cosmopolitan and multi-cultural character, the festival showcases a wide selection of features, shorts and documentaries from around the world. The festival also celebrates excellence in Arab and world cinema by screening a repertoire of critically-acclaimed and award winning films. 2006 saw the addition of the first competitive section in the festival, The Muhr Awards for Excellence in Arab Cinema, granting a purse of over AED 1 million in prize money to foster growth in local filmmaking and help elevate awareness of talent in the region. DIFF has grown exponentially since its inaugural year to reflect record breaking figures each year in registration, box office sales, films showcased from around the world and premieres for films within the program whether Gulf, Middle Eastern, International or World premieres. The number of international red carpet celebrities has also flourished and added another important component to the celebration of the festival.

Rome Film Festival

2009
After the first three extraordinarily popular editions with the public, the International Rome Film Festival will be back from October 15 to 23, 2009 with films, retrospectives, meetings and major international stars. The festival is based on a blend of popular vocation and quality culture and attracts both film fans as well as those who have never taken part in a festival before. With the magnificent landscape of Rome serving as the backdrop, the festival will once again mix popular entertainment with deep Italian culture - attracting both film lovers and first-time festival goers. This year's Festival will honour actress Meryl Streep with the Golden Marc'Aurelio Acting Award, while acclaimed director Milos Forman with preside over the 2009 international jury. This year's edition of the International Rome Film Festival is put on by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma and promoted by the Fondazione Musica per Roma, the Municipality of Rome, the Rome Chamber of Commerce, the Province of Rome and the Lazio Region. Gian Luigi Rondi is the President, Piera Detassis is the Artistic Director and Francesca Via is the General Director. The festival is organised by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma and producer Roberto Cicutto is in charge of The Business Street, which takes place during the festival.
