CARS 2
Cast, filmmakers and fans braved the rain on Sunday 17th July to race to the UK premiere of Cars 2. Lightning McQueen and Finn McMissile themselves were at Whitehall Gardens for the fabulous pre-premiere party, which hosted a Tokyo diner, French patisserie, royal hair salon, Scalextric and even a disco. Pixar legend and director John Lasseter walked the racetrack red carpet, and was joined by producer Denise Ream, as well as voice stars of the film Sir Michael Caine and Jason Isaacs. Celebrity guests such as Emma Bunton, Noel Clarke and James Cracknell also attended, and brought their children along to enjoy the family classic Cars 2.
Cars 2 recently zoomed to the top of the US box office and includes a colourful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors. Owen Wilson returns to the driving seat as star racecar Lightning McQueen and is joined again by Larry the Cable Guy as the incomparable tow truck Mater. Together Lightning and Mater take their friendship to exciting new places when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world's fastest car, against the likes of Lewis Hamilton, who has taken on his first film role as his own animated car.
Cars 2 is released by Disney and will open nationwide on 22nd July 2011, and will be presented in Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D in select theatres.
